More and more these days people are being encouraged to shop local – to buy local produce and products and support the growth of the local economy. Unfortunately the trend doesn’t often trickle into other areas of consumerism, especially the film industry. That’s why I am so pleased and excited to be attending the Silver Wave Film Festival, which is held annually in Fredericton, New Brunswick. I finally get to “shop local” on the big screen, an opportunity so rarely offered to us here in the Maritimes.
