Now that the Silver Wave Film Festival has come to a close, I have to share with you all how impressed I was by the weekend’s events. Unfortunately with limited time, I wasn’t able to take in everything I would have liked to – but my two days were absolutely packed with interesting viewing experiences. Here is a “short” list of some of my favourite short films I was able to take in during the festival.

More and more these days people are being encouraged to shop local – to buy local produce and products and support the growth of the local economy. Unfortunately the trend doesn’t often trickle into other areas of consumerism, especially the film industry. That’s why I am so pleased and excited to be attending the Silver Wave Film Festival, which is held annually in Fredericton, New Brunswick. I finally get to “shop local” on the big screen, an opportunity so rarely offered to us here in the Maritimes.
